Behind the Scenes at Lady Moon Farms
We had the opportunity to film a commercial with Lady Moon Farms yesterday and we had a blast! We did get a little too much sun but we really had a great time listening to owner Tom Beddard talk about how he grew his farm from 5 acres to becoming the largest organic vegetable grower on the East Coast.
We can't wait to share the final video with you but here is a behind the scenes shot with Marc and Tom preparing some key points on cue cards.
Tips on how to “Green your Office”
Did you know that it takes approximately 2,000 gallons of water to make a single box of non-recycled office paper?
Marc Laucks recently appeared as guest on PAR's Real Property Podcast to discuss how we can reduce our impact on the environment by making a few small changes in the office. In this episode Marc talks about statistics regarding paper use in the real estate industry and how using recycled copy paper can save our resources.

Musings from the Fancy Food Show
I've just returned from the Summer Fancy Food show held in Washington DC. There were over 2400 exhibitors there, and in my opinion, only a few really stood out.
#1 Standout. www.backtotheroots.com. This cool and creative product makes growing mushrooms at home as easy as pie. The overall uniqueness of this product really made it stand out. The booth staff were friendly and inviting.
#2 Standout. www.toddsdirt.com. Sure there was a lot of food to sample but, this booth was edgy and fun. They gave away a 3-pack of their delicious seasonings. They also served beef and chicken prepared with their seasonings...it was out of this world. In fact, I made kabobs using one of the free packs of "Original Dirt" and it was a BIG hit....UPDATE; I used the "Crabby Dirt" as a dusting on grilled zucchini and it was awesome! The labels on the sample packs were hard to read but, if some of our client's experiences are any indication, the booth staff probably went without sleep for 3 nights printing labels on their inkjet printer and applying them to hundreds of samples. Todd "The Dirt Man" tells me that readers can enter the code "dirty" during checkout for 15% off. Go Dirt Man....and thanks for the samples!
#3 Standout. www.ichill.com. This may have been a first for me; a booth where all the booth staff were sitting down. I've never seen that in my life nor have I seen so many people waiting rows deep to see what was going on...Strange but true. It looked like an unoccupied booth with throngs of people 3 and 4 deep.
Is it really worth it to buy print on the web?
3 reasons in favor of buying print on the web
- Cheap prices
- Quick turnaround
- Many companies to choose from
3 reasons you may want to reconsider buying print on the web.
- 70% of all files have errors that cannot be caught by the automated systems in use with web-based print buying
- you don’t know what you don’t know until someone points out you don’t know it….an autoresponder at a web-based print shop doesn’t know you don’t know because “they” don’t know anything.
- Unless you’re an expert buyer, with knowledge of scoring, grain direction, coating options, RGB to CMYK conversion, trapping, bleed, safe zone and others, you may open a box and be disappointed, embarrassed and passed over for a promotion.
